Chimney Rebuild

Chimney repair can sometimes require a complete chimney rebuild depending the level of damage involved.

Chimney rebuilding may be required when there are significant deteriorated mortar joints, multiple cracked and/or broken bricks over a large area of the chimney. The chimney can deteriorate as a result of both exterior or interior factors. Exterior damage can result from lightning strikes, improper crown construction, deteriorated mortar joints that allow water penetration, and freeze/thaw (expansion) cycles. Interior damage results from condensation caused by unlined flues, cracked or missing flue tiles, and/or improperly sized liners.

Our Masons tear down the chimney to a solid or structurally sound area and prep the surface before they begin to lay the new bricks and mortar. Often times, a rebuild is only necessary from the flashing up, because this is where the chimney structure is most exposed to the weather.
